Repairs to the Boston Avenue bridge are expected to wrap up later this year as part of phase two of the larger renovation project.
Work on the Center of the Universe plaza itself, including surface improvements, is slated to begin this summer. The city estimates the project will take between nine months and a year to complete once it begins.
Once the project is completed, the City of Tulsa and the Downtown Tulsa Partnership will share responsibility for maintaining the space.
Officials hope the changes will encourage more people to gather, explore, and connect in the heart of the city.
