Funeral date for Pope Francis set for April 26

Preparations are underway at St. Mary Major Basilica in Rome, where Pope Francis will be laid to rest on April 26.

The next few days will be for paying tribute to Pope Francis, known as "the People's Pope," who died from a stroke Monday at age 88.

Pope Francis' body is now in St. Peter’s Basilica, where it will lie in state until Friday evening.

Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to arrive and pay their final respects to the pontiff.
