Oklahoma’s Jeremiah Fears declares for 2025 NBA Draft

OU freshman guard Jeremiah Fears announced that he has declared for the 2025 NBA Draft, forgoing his remaining college eligibility. Fear made the announcement on ESPN’s The Paul Finebaum Show while also posting a message to Sooner Nation on Instagram.

“I spoke with my family about it and we felt like it’s time for me to enter the 2025 draft," said Fears. "It’s always been a dream come true to play in the NBA and we just felt like it was the right time.” The freshman was quick to praise his time as a member of the Sooners. "I was lucky to walk into a great situation at Oklahoma with a lot of opportunity," Fears added.

Fears earned SEC All-Freshman honors after averaging 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game. He played a key role in Oklahoma’s NCAA Tournament return, leading the Sooners to a 20-14 season and delivering standout performances in the SEC Tournament, scoring 29 and 28 points against Georgia and Kentucky.

As one of the youngest players in the draft (turning 19 in October 2025), Fears is projected as a Top 10 pick. His combination of shot-making, pace, and versatility makes him an appealing prospect for NBA teams looking for a dynamic guard. 2025 NBA Draft takes place on June 25-26.
