On Tuesday evening, the Moore Police Department released body camera footage and two 911 calls following an officer-involved shooting.

Officers responded to a stabbing in progress around 8:30 p.m. on the 300 block of North Butler St.

In a call to 911 dispatch released in a Facebook post, a caller can be heard saying, “I need somebody at my house right now.”

The dispatcher asked, “What’s going on there?”

“My son just freaked out and started stabbing my mom,” the caller responded.

In a second call to 911, another caller reported two victims with stab wounds.

“My neighbors just came from across the street. They’ve both been stabbed,” the caller said to the dispatcher.

Body camera footage showed officers arriving at a blood-covered house.

“There’s yelling inside the house,” one officer said in the video.

A second officer said it looked like there was blood on the front door.

The two officers, with their guns drawn, approached the front door as 19-year-old James Alexander Collier walked out of the house carrying a large machete.

The officers yelled for Collier to drop his weapon – for at least 20 seconds.

Capt. David Seay with the Moore Police Department said in the video released on Facebook that officers gave an excess of 20 commands including, “drop your weapon” and “put your hands up.”

“Officers continued to retreat as Collier closed the distance. Both officers fired shots, striking Collier,” said Capt. Seay.

Video showed officers rendering aid to Collier. He later died at the hospital.

“The victims of the initial attack were located and transported to nearby hospitals for medical treatment,” the captain added.

Police said both stabbing victims are expected to recover, and the officers involved are on administrative assignment.

It also explained that the Cleveland County District Attorney's office will review the investigation.
