Oklahoma residents are spending the least on takeout in the United States, according to a new study. On average, Oklahomans spend just $3,198 per year, or $267 per month, on food and drinks for off-premises consumption. This amount is notably below the national average of $4,181 per year, representing 5.95% of their disposable income—23.55% less than the average American.
The study, which analyzed personal expenditures on food and beverages for off-premises consumption, reveals that Oklahoma residents spend less on takeout compared to other states, where annual spending averages up to $5,322 in Hawaii.
While Oklahomans spend less on takeout, the figures reflect the state’s average yearly disposable income of $53,761, which is also lower than many other regions in the U.S.
