A metro mother has gone five years without answers in her son's murder. The victim's family believes they know who committed the crime, but Oklahoma City police have not made an arrest in 22-year-old Takota Wise’s death. Wise's family said they will not stop raising awareness about his case until someone comes forward with evidence that identifies the killer.

Oklahoma City police posted video this week of the scene where Wise's body was found five years ago. Watching the video was the first time, Robin Wise said she has seen what her son was wearing.

“That just really hurt, but it needed to be out there at the same time,” said Robin.

Wise said the last five years have been a roller coaster of emotions. Never healing from the wound of losing her son.

“You get a really bad sore that has a scab and it’s almost healed and then the scab gets torn off again and it starts hurting all over again,” said Wise. “Just like it did when the original injury happened.”

Wise and several family members initially pointed investigators to a person they believed responsible for their loved one’s death.

“They told me that he didn’t say anything that would incriminate himself,” said Wise.

Investigators did not have any evidence from the scene that linked the potential suspect to the killing, including DNA testing of a clue left behind.

“The detectives told me that they sent I don’t know what off for testing and it came back human,” said Wise. “But it was not enough to show whose DNA.”

Wise does not want to wait another five years for answers.

“I urge anybody with tips to call in because you never know when it may be the tip needed to finally get Takota his justice,” said Wise.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest and charges filed in the case. The public can leave tips for investigators by calling the homicide tip line at (405) 297-1200.
