A second family shared their experience with Xander Faison, a former DHS trainee who was arrested for allegedly taking a child from a home using fake documents.
Monica Stewart began her relationship with Faison after she responded to a Facebook post about helping her son get back on his feet. Faison reportedly offered housing and support for the family.
"I said, at least see what that woman is all about," Stewart said. "She's really trying to help you guys."
Faison allowed Stewart's son and his young child to move into a spare bedroom at Faison's home.
However, Faison's support raised suspicions when the former DHS trainee asked specific and odd questions, including the suggestion of an open adoption. Faison sent messages repeatedly asking for Stewart's son to reach out.
When he finally did, he knew something was wrong.
"He said, 'I think she's trying to take my child,'" Stewart said.
Stewart was shocked to see Faison arrested months later.

When authorities searched Faison's apartment, they found identification documents, folders, journals, and paperwork linked to multiple families. Authorities say that the evidence may be indicative of a larger scheme.
