Inola High School made one last push for votes in their competition to win a $2 million upgrade to their stadium and weight room.

The deadline for votes in the T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights Contest is 10:59 p.m. Tuesday.

The students went all over Green Country, called every school district in the state, and posted thousands of times on social media for this competition.

They can’t wait to see if they come out on top.

Something as simple as social media likes on a video could give Inola a multi-million-dollar athletics facilities upgrade.

Eli Berg plays on the football team and says a new field is much needed.

"We've had injuries on this field,” said Berg. “Torn ACLs, I broke my back, there's been six injuries, I think, of starters on this field. So we really need a new field."

But, the field won’t just impact football.

Students in band like Sadie Ferguson also use the field half the year- and say the extra money would help other activities too.

"Renovating the football field would cost us money if we wouldn't win the competition, so it would be taking that off of our plates and would leave money open for other activities as well,” said Ferguson.

Deleea Meeker is the teacher in charge of this competition.

She’s had dozens of students making hundreds of calls and sending thousands of emails to get as many votes as possible before the deadline.

"It has been a long time coming,” said Meeker. “This started for us in August, so we have been working on this for a long time. We did not anticipate that it was going to be as big as it is. We're neck and neck with the second team, and we have a couple hours left of voting."

So far, the school has gotten more than 700,000 likes, and they still can’t believe it.

"It's so cool that our tiny little town of like, I don't know what our population is, 2,000?” said Ferguson. “Our tiny little town can impact, and get this much outreach, it's insane."

To vote for Inola all you have to do is like the video on their Instagram page before 10:59 Tuesday night.
