Owasso police say they are seeing more crashes along a stretch of Highway 169.
They attribute the increase to a combination of Daylight Saving Time, which makes it darker earlier, and severe weather.
Officers say one of the most important things drivers can do is be aware of other drivers, especially where the highway narrows near 76th Street North.
"Some people won't let the zipper merge lane in because that's not how they were taught to drive. Other people are speeding up in the zipper lane because they say it's a whole lane of traffic you aren't using; I'm just trying to merge in. The right answer is: pay attention, be patient and try not to be so mean to the drivers around you. If somebody needs in, let them in. It will cost you less than a second," said Lt. Nick Boatman,
Owasso police say 76th Street North and Highway 169 is one of the most congested parts of the area.
