A new business in downtown Tulsa is taking people on a tour of the city in style.
Dryve Tulsa opened in October at 1501 S Main Street. It offers guided tours on scooters and trikes or group rides on the 8-seater Warrior.
"We just felt like Tulsa needed something unique, fun, and a great way to see the city," said Willis Epps. "It is not a motorcycle or anything like that, so it is just automatic, easy to operate, and we feel like people can control them."
There are three tours with stops at some of Tulsa's most historic places. Epps said he enjoys sharing the stories behind each one with locals and tourists alike.
"When we provide the little fun facts that they have no idea about, they love it," he continued saying, "Then we get to see everybody enjoying themselves."
A fun adventure that helps Dryve Tulsa give back to Tulsa Public Schools students through the nonprofit Gibraltar Youth.
"We meet with the kids several times a week, we feed them, we mentor them, we tutor them, we take them on field trips, and they do community service," said director Danielle Eni.
In its four years, Gibraltar Youth has helped nearly 200 kids. Danielle said many of them want to do better in school or in life, but just lack the support.
"We have got middle schoolers, and they can barely sound out a word," she said. "So, we are trying to get their test scores up, we are trying to get their grades up so that they can feel proud that they have accomplished something and they are doing better in school."
Danielle and her husband Eke Eni who is the CEO and Founder of the nonprofit call it a hands-up approach.
"The whole reason is to break what people call the generational curse by working with the kids, working with the parents, working with the teachers, all of us kind of working together to help our kids to graduate and after they graduate, plug them into something that is going to make them successful," said Eke.
A portion of proceeds from the tours and Dryve Tulsa's power sport vehicle sales go to Gibraltar Youth.
Each tour is 2 hours and starts at $99.95. For more information visit https://dryvetulsa.com/.
