Second Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Murdering Girlfriend

A man who was already found guilty of murdering his girlfriend once has been found guilty by a second jury.

Investigators say Alonzo Kelly shot and killed Charletta Thomas in Tulsa in 2016. Kelly went on the run and was arrested in 2018 in Oregon.

A jury found him guilty in 2021 and sentenced him to life in prison, but Kelly appealed, saying he should have been allowed to represent himself.

The Court of Criminal Appeals agreed and ordered a new trial. That trial was this week, and the jury found Kelly guilty again and recommended life in prison again.
