Pawnee County Sheriff Resigns From Position

The Pawnee County Sheriff announced he is stepping down from his position on Tuesday.

Sheriff Darrin Varnell released a statement saying the decision came after he was offered an opportunity that he felt unable to decline.

Varnell says he wishes Sheriff-elect Price the best and that Pawnee County will be in capable hands.

He says his official resignation will be at midnight.
