FC Tulsa bolstered its squad by acquiring forward Matthew Bell on loan from Real Salt Lake, the team announced on Thursday.
At 22, Bell joins FC Tulsa after being drafted 16th overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by Real Salt Lake. He signed a four-year deal with them in February and made his MLS debut in July. Bell will wear jersey No. 10 for FC Tulsa.
Head coach Mario Sanchez praised Bell's attacking prowess and ability to score goals. Bell, a Kingston, Jamaica native, previously appeared in 20 matches for Real Monarchs on loan, scoring four goals and adding one assist.
Bell had a standout college career at Marshall, earning First Team All-American honors and the Sun Belt Conference Offensive and Player of the Year awards. He was also a MAC Hermann Trophy Semifinalist, with a record 32 points in his sophomore season.
Before college, Bell played for Valeo FC and represented Kingston College in the Manning Cup. The move is pending league and federation approval.
FC Tulsa’s next match is against Phoenix Rising FC on Aug. 6 at 10 p.m. CT, broadcast on ESPN2.
