Tulsa Police arrested a man they say embezzled $130,000 from the Oklahomans for Equality Center.

The group filed a police report in September 2022 and said Paul Allen embezzled the money.

The report says Paul Allen was the Equality Center's volunteer treasurer from 2008 to 2022 and had access to its credit cards and checkbooks.

It says in 2020, the board asked Allen to do an audit and present it to the board.

The original police report says Allen continuously misled the board about the audit's progress, kept missing deadlines, and couldn't name the accounting firm he was using for the audit.

Allen eventually admitted he faked the audit and resigned in February of 2022.

The Equality Center eventually did an audit that flagged $135,000 in potential losses between 2018 and 2022, including $66,000 in checks written to Allen.

It says Allen also used more than $1,100 to pay for health insurance, then changed the name of the transaction in the accounting software.

Court records show Allen is out of jail on a $10,000 bond.
