The 2024 campaign calendar is filling up as former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris intensify their efforts ahead of next week's Democratic National Convention.
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz made his first solo campaign stop for the Democratic ticket, addressing a labor group in Los Angeles.
"I'm proud to be on this ticket working with Vice President Harris, who we all know we want to call the next president of the United States," Walz said.
On Friday, Vice President Harris is set to unveil her economic campaign platform during a speech in North Carolina, where she is expected to announce that tackling inflation will be a "day one" priority if she wins in November.
Walz praised Harris's background, noting her middle-class upbringing and work ethic.
"Can you simply picture Donald Trump working at a McDonald's trying to make a McFlurry or something?" Walz said.
Meanwhile, Trump is ramping up his campaign schedule, holding a rally in Asheville, North Carolina, on Wednesday focused on the economy.
He criticized Harris during a two-hour livestream conversation with Elon Musk on X, claiming she had copied his proposal to eliminate taxes on tips.
"All of a sudden she's making a speech, and there will be no tax on tips. I said that months ago," Trump said.
Trump will continue his campaign with another rally on Saturday in northeastern Pennsylvania, just two days before the Democratic National Convention kicks off in Chicago.
The convention will feature speeches from key Democratic figures, including President Joe Biden, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
