'Tis the season for heavy traffic and last-minute shopping. It was a busy weekend at Tulsa Hills shopping center as folks snatched up the last of their Christmas gifts, "well, I had to come out and do last-minute shopping," said Bruce Jordan.
Jordan had one item on his shopping list that he said he could only get at Vintage Stock, and while he was expecting to spend most of his day checking off the rest of his shopping list, he was pleasantly surprised by how quickly things went.
"I figured I could get it in in a little less than five to six hours, but I actually ended up wrapping things up two, two and a half," he said.
Rather than battling the lines at department stores, some shoppers decided to keep it local this year.
"I like sentimental gifts, and it's something that they can have for a long time so we had them made from a local guy in Grove and they turned out fantastic so we can't wait for the kids to get them," said Kim Springsguth.
Kim Springsguth and her husband Cody, also known as Mimi and Dude Claus, had their holiday shopping all wrapped up, "thank god it wasn't us this year. Yeah, it was really nice," but say they didn’t mind jumping into today's hustle and bustle, "I think it's fun, I love this time of year."
For those who weren't done yet, time was running out.
"I got one more stop. I got to go over to Target and get candy. It's always the big thing, you go fill stockings with candy, or coal, just depends on how good they were this year," Jordan said.
If you've made your own list, checked it twice, and realized you forgot something, no need to panic just yet. Places like Walmart and Woodland Hills Mall will still be open for Christmas eve.
