My Thunder blue suitcase didn’t survive my first year of travels with the Oklahoma City Thunder. I guess all those trips to Oakland were too much to overcome for old blue. I can’t lie it didn’t take long to miss the Thunder after the season ended in Oakland. This summer I stayed put at home waiting on Kevin Durant and any news on Russ, to be honest, after all the traveling I really wasn’t dying to get back on an airplane and go somewhere.

The Thunder open up the season at Philadelphia, sounds good to me, the weather shouldn’t be bad in late October. I wish the home opener on Friday Oct. 26 had a little more pop to it, the Suns are rebuilding, if anything, OKC should start the year with a few wins under their belt. Here’s some observations on the upcoming schedule.
-Playing at 76ers early may help, Philly should get better as the season rolls along.
-at 76ers,vs. Suns, vs. Lakers great chance to start 3-0.
-At Clippers and Warriors on back to back nights in early November (OUCH?), an early indication on how good the KD-less Thunder will be.
-Friday night with Blake Griffin November 11 at Chesapeake Arena. 2 games against the Clippers in a two week span.
-Welcome Back Serge! Orlando at Oklahoma City, Sunday, November 13.
-Russ and Steven Adams at Detroit, Monday November 14, remember Reggie near the end of last year’s game at Auburn Hills? Russ and Steven do.
-Oklahoma City plays at Sacramento’s new basketball address Golden 1 Center, Wednesday, November 23.
-Welcome Back Coach Brooks! Washington at Oklahoma City, Wednesday, November 30.
-Buddy Hield faces the Thunder twice in December, at Thunder Sunday, December 6, vs. Thunder Wednesday, December 21.
-Santa brings Minnesota to the Thunder on Christmas night.
-Ugly January, 12 road games and only 3 home games, at Clippers, at Cavs, at Spurs, at Warriors.
-LeBron comes to town, Thursday, February 9.
-Welcome Back KD! (it’s ok to boo) Warriors at Thunder Saturday, February 11.
-Two days after KD, OKC plays against their old coach, Scott Brooks in Washington Monday, February 13.
-Hey, I turn 50 on Friday, March 3, Thunder at Phoenix.
-Test at home for 3 straight, vs. Portland March 7, vs. Spurs March 9, vs. Utah March 11.
-KD returns to Chesapeake, Monday, March 20.
-Fighting for a playoff seed? The Thunder play 4 out of their last 5 away from Oklahoma City.
