The Tulsa Police Department is now recruiting for its Police Cadet Program, a youth initiative designed to introduce students and young adults to careers in law enforcement and criminal justice.

Previously known as the Tulsa Police Explorers, the program is open to individuals ages 14 to 21 who are currently enrolled in junior high, high school, or college.

Cadets meet weekly to train in police-response scenarios, prepare for competitive skills events, and participate in ride-alongs and community outreach. To join, applicants must attend two consecutive unit meetings, pass an oral interview, and undergo a background check.

Unit meetings are held Tuesdays from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tulsa Police Training Division located at 6066 E. 66th St. N., Tulsa, OK 74117. Times may vary, and those interested are encouraged to contact a program mentor for current scheduling.

For more information or to apply, email TulsaPoliceCadets@cityoftulsa.org.
