Music legends Willie Nelson and Bob Dylan will not take the stage in El Reno as planned after severe weather forced the cancellation of the Outlaw Music Festival stop scheduled for Tuesday, July 1, at the Lucky Star Amphitheater.
Organizers announced the show’s cancellation Monday after an extreme weather event in Ridgedale, Missouri, disrupted the tour over the weekend.
Heavy rain and strong winds damaged artists’ instruments and stage equipment during the June 29 concert at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena, prompting a full crowd evacuation.
According to festival officials, much of the equipment was waterlogged and will not be safely assessed or used in time for the Oklahoma show.
As a result, the tour’s production has been temporarily halted while the team works to recover and replace critical gear.
Blackbird Presents, Lucky Star Amphitheater, and DCF Concerts apologized for the cancellation, which they said was due to circumstances beyond their control. Full refunds will be issued to the original point of purchase. Officials say customers should expect to see those refunds processed within 7 to 10 business days.
Despite the setback, the Outlaw Music Festival’s 10th anniversary tour is expected to resume in Austin on Friday, July 4.
