Former Oklahoma House Speaker Charles McCall announced on Tuesday that he has entered the 2026 race for Oklahoma Governor.
McCall is Oklahoma’s longest-serving House Speaker. He termed out of his position in the Oklahoma State House in 2024 after serving as speaker since 2016.

McCall posted on X Tuesday morning, “After deep prayer and heartfelt conversations with Stephanie and our sons, and the urging of others, I have officially filed to run for Governor of Oklahoma.”
McCall joins Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond, who announced his candidacy in January.
Leisa Mitchell Haynes is also running for Governor in 2026.
Current Gov. Kevin Stitt will reach his term limit and is not eligible to run again.
