Oklahoma’s County Commission will have a new commissioner for District 1. Democrat Jason Lowe won 40.6% of Tuesday’s vote over 2 other members of his party.
Lowe will face Independent candidate Jed Green in the April 1 general election. The winner will take the place of Carrie Blumert, who resigned from her seat in September 2024.

Oklahoma County Commissioners have a busy year ahead of them as they face rising costs in the efforts to build a new county jail.
Lowe, currently a state representative and an attorney, said his experience as a member of the House Judiciary Committee will enforce his ability to cut through the needs of Oklahoma County's criminal justice reform.
"Mental health funding; that's just so very important," Lowe said during an interview at his watch party. "I'm a big believer in rehabilitation over incarceration for nonviolent offenders. And, I'm going to push it. I've been pushing it my entire career, that particular issue. And I'm not going to ever stop."
When asked about how he would redress a deficit in the amount of hundreds of millions to build the new jail, Lowe replied, "I'm ready to look at all areas. As an attorney, I'm going to bring three things to the table: the law, the facts, and evidence."
He said any plans to resign or step down from his current elected office would not happen unless and until he is elected to the commission seat in April.
