Two of Tulsa’s most dynamic singer-songwriters, Branjae and Casii Stephan, are reuniting for an evening of powerful performances at LowDown on Tuesday, July 29. The show, titled Velvet Voices, will also feature artist Madame Zeroni.

The genre-blending showcase will highlight the soulful, boundary-pushing talents of each performer. Branjae described the night as “a genre-bending evening with some velvety voices,” adding that tickets are already half sold and expected to go quickly.

Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show begins at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at lowdown.turntabletickets.com.

Years Of Collaboration Born From Tulsa Roots

Branjae and Casii's musical partnership began nearly a decade ago when they co-wrote the featured track for MisFest, a Tulsa-based music festival spotlighting female artists. Since then, their connection has grown from collaborators to close friends.

Casii recalled first meeting Branjae at Doc’s Wine and Food, saying she was a fan long before they worked together. “Branjae always feels larger than life,” she said, “which is why people love her.”

Their most notable joint work includes the song Hands, which they’ve performed live and hope to record. Branjae also lent her voice to Casii's cover of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs, released in 2024 on YouTube.

Branjae is preparing to release a short film and soundtrack titled Master of Ceremonies, in addition to an EP recorded at Tulsa’s historic Church Studio and several standalone singles.

Tulsa's Impact On Two Musical Powerhouses

As recognized forces in Tulsa’s music scene, both Branjae and Casii credit the city for shaping their artistic growth.

“It’s a place to try things out, practice and sharpen my craft,” Branjae said.

Casii added, “The diversity of music being created in this town is amazing. It always pushes me to be better.”

When it comes to each other’s work, admiration flows both ways.

“Casii puts her real feelings in her music,” Branjae said. “The inspiration typically comes from real experiences and I admire that.”

Casii called Branjae a fearless visionary: “She dares to think outside the box all the time and she dreams big.”
