The Tulsa Day Center is calling on the public to step in and help meet an urgent need this summer. As the shelter sees a surge in visits and outreach activity, it's asking for specific donations to support clients experiencing homelessness and their pets.
48,560: Total visits so far this year
The Tulsa Day Center has already recorded 48,560 visits so far this year, underscoring the increasing demand for services amid rising summer heat and housing insecurity.
1,458: Client visits in May alone
Case managers at the shelter documented 1,458 client visits in the month of May. These visits often include help with housing, medical needs, employment, and more.
564: Referrals to partner agencies
During that same month, the Day Center made 564 referrals to organizations offering further support, from addiction services to mental health resources.
758: New community contacts
The center’s outreach team made contact with 758 new individuals in the community, many of whom are unhoused and previously disconnected from services.
