Road conditions across the metro area are gradually improving, but drivers are still urged to be cautious as icy spots remain.
News 9's Haley Weger, reporting from I-240 and I-44, said the highways appear clear, with minimal ice on the roads. However, many city streets still have occasional slick patches. Salt trucks and plows have been working to treat the roads and keep drivers safe.
Weger advises anyone planning to drive to scrape their windshield and keep the defrost and wipers running due to melted snow freezing on the windshield after it lands.
Most drivers are taking it slow and remaining cautious, but the wintry conditions are still causing challenges. As the extreme weather continues, authorities urge drivers to remain vigilant and give themselves extra time for travel.
Haley Weger joined the News 9 team as a multi-media journalist in August 2022. She came to OKC from Lake Charles, Louisiana. Haley began her career as a producer and multi-media reporter and then transitioned to a morning anchor position. While she was in Louisiana, Haley covered an array of news topics, and covered multiple hurricanes on the coast.
