An Oklahoma City organization has been working hard to fulfill flower orders ahead of Valentine's Day.
Now that the holiday has arrived, the Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages Porch is stopping by Curbside Flowers in Oklahoma City to learn more about the opportunities provided for people transitioning out of homelessness.
Curbside Chief Social Enterprise Officer Ranya Forgotson says Curbside Flowers is the perfect place to grab last-minute flowers if you need them.
"We're ready for you OKC," Forgotson said."We are open until 6 p.m., and we have plenty of flowers if you need them for Valentine's Day."
Forgotson said Curbside Flowers, located at the corner of Northwest 5th Street and North Classen Boulevard, employs people transitioning out of homelessness in Oklahoma City.
"Every single arrangement that we make and sell is actually made by someone in our jobs program earning income to ultimately help them end their homelessness and get back into the workforce," Forgotson said."
Each order of plants or flowers comes with a tag signed by the employee who created it, adding a personal touch to each purchase.
"This is just an all-around amazing experience, there's such a feeling of community here," Forgotson said. "The individuals in our community, our customers who are purchasing these flowers, they're creating opportunity with every order."
