Country Music icon Trisha Yearwood made a flavorful splash in Tulsa today, celebrating the release of her new album and the opening of a nacho bar at the BOK Center.
Fans gathered in Tulsa for a chance to meet country music legend Trisha Yearwood and grab a signed copy of her new album, “The Mirror,” the icon's first album in 6 years. But fans didn’t just get the music. Trisha also launched her brand-new nacho bar, Trisha’s ParTY Nachos, now open at the BOK Center.
"It's just wonderful to be back and just all the memories of raising our kids here, so even though I’m a Georgia girl, this has been home for me, so to open up a spot here in Tulsa makes so much sense, and I’m really excited about it. We thought when we were gonna come to BOK, we have this spot, let's focus on the nachos, because everyone wants nachos at a concert or basketball game or whatever,” Yearwood said.
Michelle Gott has been a fan of Yearwood for years. “Since the beginning, I have loved her music…”Walkaway Joe”...she’s just amazing,” Gott said. She drove down from Kansas to see her. "Who doesn’t want to meet an iconic country star?” she said.
Yearwood says the visit is about more than just celebration, but about reconnecting with a place she still considers home.
“I hope people feel like they know that this is still home for me, that I feel real affection for this area,” she said.
