Tulsa Police are asking for assistance in locating a missing child after a Department of Human Services case worker contacted them on July 18, 2025 at approximately 8:30 p.m.

Authorities say the report stated a 3-year-old had been missing since July 4, where DHS received a pickup order from the Tulsa County courthouse in reference to the child.

After both parents were discovered to be homeless, DHS initiated contact with the Mother Lakeitha Timmins or Smith, to where she said she paid another homeless woman $50 to take the child from her. The mother has been uncooperative throughout the process.

Officials have laid out a timeline before the child's disappearance, starting on July 1:

July 1

The mother was at Catholic Charities with her child according to TPD. Catholic Charities made a DHS referral due to the child making inappropriate expressions with toys and illustrated the toys killing each other with guns. Catholic Charities reported the possibility of the child being exposed to a sexual and violent environment.

July 4

Police say The child's mother paid a homeless woman to take the child. The woman then took the child to her mother's house for the holiday celebration. The mother posted a picture of the child on Facebook to see if anyone could claim the child. Someone replied to the post saying they knew the child's father.

Later that day, the child was taken to 1513 N. Peoria Avenue, QuikTrip, to give the child to an unknown black male driving a Yukon. It was stated that the man was the possible father of the child.

What happens now?

The current whereabouts of the child are unknown, nor do authorities know who the child is really with. Officers say they were informed that the child has been seen a couple of times in the downtown area with other possible homeless individuals.

The child has been entered NCIC as a missing person/juvenile, but at this time an Amber Alert cannot be issued without additional information and location of individuals involved in this incident according to Tulsa Police.

This is an ongoing investigation.
