Country music and community came together in a powerful way Wednesday night as Pat Green and dozens of musicians performed in a special livestream concert to support victims of catastrophic flooding in Central Texas.
The “no audience” concert, held at Globe Life Field in Arlington on July 16, raised more than $1 million for families affected by the deadly floods that struck over the Fourth of July holiday.
The flooding disaster claimed at least 132 lives and left more than 100 people missing. It devastated communities across Central Texas, with widespread damage to homes, infrastructure and lives.
Among those personally impacted was Pat Green himself. The Texas native lost his brother, sister-in-law and their two young sons while they were on a camping trip during the storm.
The Pat Green Foundation hosted the benefit concert at Globe Life Field with no live audience — only cameras and music. The Texas Rangers and REV Entertainment partnered to make the event possible.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott also made a virtual appearance, sharing a video message of support during the livestream.
Oklahoma’s music scene was well-represented at the event. Performers included:
They joined a long list of country stars from across the region, including Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, Jon Pardi, Casey Donahew, Josh Abbott, Eli Young Band, Joe Nichols, Ty Myers, Kevin Fowler and Bob Schneider.
All proceeds from the concert go directly to flood victims and their families. The full performance is still available for replay, which we have attached below. Donations are being accepted at: https://givebutter.com/X8we2r
